After breakfast at the hotel, we will detour from Abruzzo into Molise, still an undiscovered region, among the smallest of Italy, however offering the same charme and perhaps that authenticity that has been lost elsewhere.
The first stop will be devoted to visiting the oldest existing manufacturer of bells in Italy, still active here in Alto Molise and listed as the third oldest family business in the world. Over 1000 years of history in bronze casting, the place where bells are still produced by expert hands. This foundry was the one rewarded by Pope Pius XI with the privilege of the Papal coat of arms.
After the visit there will be a refreshing break with a light lunch at one of the local farms, to sample the products of the Molise culinary tradition and cheese produced by local, expert makers.
A short drive along the road that crosses Alto Molise, a most recent Slow Food Italia precinct, will later take you to an almost forgotten village, one of the many in Italy that was risking total abandonment. There’s an interesting story behind it that is worth knowing. Old houses and stables have been carefully restored to create a fascinating place, a charme hotel that really feels like home.
Here you’ll be welcomed with a drink at the SPA pool and relax facing an incredible sunset over untouched cliffs and forests of the Majella National Park. Today’s dinner consists of dishes made with the local truffles and apples (entre, appetizer, first course, main course and dessert). Night will more enjoyable than ever.
